Arsenal defender Armand Traore has signed a new long-term contract to stay at the Emirates Stadium, the North London club has confirmed.
The 18-year-old French under-19 international has made 18 first team appearances for the Gunners since joining from Monaco in 2005.
But manager Arsene Wenger sees him as back-up for left-back Gael Clichy.
“Everyone at Arsenal is delighted that Armand has extended his contract,” said a statement on the club website.
Traore has predominantly been used in the Carling Cup, making 10 appearances in the competition, including starting against Chelsea in the 2007 final.
